Open Water Certification Dives
The Open Water portion of the PADI Open Water Diver Course consists of four open water dives conducted in a natural environment, such as a lake or ocean. These dives allow students to apply and refine the skills they learned in confined water sessions while gaining real-world diving experience.
Your First Open Water Dive
When you take your open water dives with Larry Wedgewood at Twin Lake, your very first dive will be a one-on-one experience—just you and Larry!
This personalized approach ensures you get a solid orientation, build confidence in the water, and establish the base skills in a relaxed, supportive setting. It’s all about making you feel comfortable, capable, and excited for the adventure ahead!
Overview of the Open Water Dives
Dive 1 – Introduction to Open Water
Dive 2 – Skill Refinement
Dive 3 – Increased Independence
Dive 4– Final Assessment & Exploration
After completing all four dives, students earn their PADI Open Water Diver certification, allowing them to dive independently with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet).
