Skills Overview

divers-swimming

You will practice descending and swimming as you would in an environment with sensitive aquatic organisms. These skills combine what you’ve already learned with respect to proper weighting, trim and buoyancy control.

  • It is typical of how you dive near coral reefs and other fragile organisms, and over bottoms like mud that stir up easily, ruining the visibility.

  • Although you can usually find insensitive areas where bottom contact is reasonable, for the purposes of this skill, your instructor will have you simulate that the entire bottom is sensitive, with no contact wanted.
